Dates: 28th September to 12th October 2025 (14 Nights)
Join me for a once in a life time ADVENTURE on the amazing African Island of Madagascar. Experience local culture, yoga, snorkelling, incredible landscapes, unique wildlife and much more. Surround yourself with likeminded women as you spend 15 days (14 nights) touring the country by 4 Wheel Drive. As usual on my ADVENTURES everything is optional!
If I haven’t convinced you yet, here’s the details that will make you want to be there.
We’ll arrive at the airport in the capital (Antananarivo) and be transferred to our hotel. The following day we’ll head off on our ADVENTURE discovering how the locals live and work. We will then leave the city behind and pass by rice field terraces and eroded mountains. We will see our first baobab trees and spend the night at a beach side lodge. The next day we’ll be discovering a small city, taking a cruise through the mangroves and visiting one of the only dry tropical forests left in the world. We’ll be here the following day as well with plenty of time to meet lots of different kinds of lemurs (aka King Julian) and Madagascar’s biggest carnivore, the Fosa. On the way back to the hotel we’ll stop at the famous baobab alley for sunset.
On day 6 we’ll head off early in the morning for the long (but well worth it) drive to the amazing Five Senses Lodge. The journey will take us through sand dunes, river crossings, on a ferry and through the mud. We will arrive late at the Lodge but then there’s plenty of time to rest. We will be at this fabulous beachfront location for the next 3 nights where you can enjoy plenty of yoga, culinary delights, incredible snorkeling, a visit to a fishing village and more baobab trees. This place is phenomenal and will be the highlight of the trip for many (I can’t wait to go back).
We hit the road again and head to the Isalo mountains, driving along the coast with spectacular scenery. We will also see some amazing tombs, sapphire mines and then stay at an extraordinary hotel in the middle of nowhere. The following day we’ll explore these fantastic sandstone mountains, the peaks and valleys, the natural pool and of course the fauna (more lemurs) and flora (pachypodium – local palms). There will be a full moon to celebrate!
We take a morning drive to a rain forest and then we head back to the plateau where the temperature will decrease, and the vegetation will change. We will visit the old part of the city and then take a night walk to observe the smallest lemur (the Microcebus), frogs and chameleons. The following day we’ll be in the park again to see different kinds of lemurs, birds, geckos etc. We will also have a visit to a village and to a natural hot spring. The drive on day 13 takes us through the capital of handcrafts (time for some shopping) and then back to our hotel. We then head back to the capital on day 14 ready to fly out the following day.
